Software Engineer, Internal Tools
Description
L9 builds most internal tools from scratch. Email, chat, dashboards, workflows, support tools, deployment tools, and the small systems that glue company work together should be ours when owning them makes the company faster.
This role is for an excellent engineer who wants to build many different things instead of spending years inside one narrow product surface.
Good fit
- Excellent at building production software quickly
- Love making tools from scratch
- Comfortable replacing products like Gmail, Slack, and internal dashboards when the default tool is too slow or awkward
- Prefer owning the whole workflow instead of one small feature
- Enjoy jumping between frontend, backend, infrastructure, automation, and product decisions
- Care about making internal work faster for everyone around you
- Good taste for simple interfaces and boring systems
You should be the kind of engineer who sees a clunky process and wants to remove it by building the right tool, not by adding another meeting or spreadsheet.

Interview process
